Joost van Kimmenaede started his career at Heerema Marine Contractors. After a period at engineering company Fugro, Joost switched to project development and construction company van Wijnen where he started as a company lawyer. During the 24 years at van Wijnen Joost held several functions of which 7 years as managing director project development. In 2006 Joost was appointed to the Managing Board of van Wijnen holding the position of Commercial Executive Director. Joost holds a supervisory position at the close-end fund business of Staal Bankiers and other board functions at interest groups. Joost holds degrees in Civil Engineering and Dutch Law. Furthermore, he followed executive courses at Nyenrode Business University and INSEAD.
Joost is married and father of three children. In his spare time, Joost trains on his racing bike to conquer the Alpe d’Huez mountain in the summer of 2017, together with his daughter on behalf of charity.
